Photosynthesis

Photosynth is a Microsoft Live Labs product that could be fun. This first attempt isn't much (due to the user), but I think this could have useful teaching applications.

What version of Firefox are you using? I did a test post with it here and was able to get it to work fine, but I'm running Firefox 3.0.1.

I also had a "&vc=false" at the end of the src string after "02d33547e70c", but I tried removing it and it still seemed to work. I also have the frameborder set to 0 and the first thing after the iframe declaration, but again tried it with 1 and had no problems. Also, I don't believe you need quotes around the value for frameborder, but again, I tried adding them to mine and it seemed to work.

I know this sounds nuts, but try rebooting (it's windows, stranger things have worked). If that doesn't work I can send you the exact code I used and you could try that. I'm curious if it works on my test post for you since it seems to be working for me. I thought I had a machine with Firefox 2.0 sitting around, but apparently I don't. Let me know so I can pull that post down.

Hi James,

Thanks for taking a look at it. I really appreciate it. Your test post does the same thing. I rebooted and still no dice. I am also using Firefox 3.0.1. I have to go by work today, so I will try it there.

Thanks to your test post I am now thinking it may have something to do with my local machine. At the house I use a Gateway laptop with Vista Home Premium.

I'll let you know!

Well, I can't imagine it being because you have Vista. But who knows. Next suggestion would be to uninstall Photosynthsis and reinstall it.

Ginger mentioned you've chosen a Microsoft specific tool and it doesn't work on her Mac at all. The plug in says it won't work with her OS.

Well, I think you are right. I will try to reinstall at home. Worked like a champ on my office machine, which, probably on an unrelated note, runs on Windows XP Pro.

I'll do the reinstall at home and give it a whirl. Thanks again for your help.

I'll bet they have the Mac Compatible plugin ...soon. I like Macs quite a bit, but here on campus except for 3 machines we are all PC all the time. Whatever happened to diversity?
